Americas
[Video footage]
Norman is now watching old footage of himself on the TV screen.
Norman in vision:
Oh, I’ve seen that already. The host was very good.
Norman changes the channel. Old footage from cars racing at a previous Eco-marathon appears.
Norman in vision:
Ahh, happy days.
Norman changes the channel again.
Norman in vision:
Oh, this looks very interesting.
Footage of Kitt from Knight Rider appears on the screen with show’s theme music playing on the top. Colin gets out of the car.

It’s Kitt from Knight Rider!
Kitt in vision:
My reputation proceeds me.
Colin in vision:
You were the car of the future! At least in your day.
Kitt in vision:
Colin, what are you insinuating?
Colin in vision:
I’m just saying, today’s car of the future might be a little different. Without all this.
Colin gets back in the car and plays with the buttons and switches.
Kitt in vision:
Colin, please.
Car alarm goes off with ‘ALERT’ signal flashing on the dashboard screen.
Colin in vision:
Woah!
Kitt in vision:
According to my specifications, I’m fastest, safest, strongest car in the world.
Colin in vision:
Now, love that about you, mate, but new ideas are already in the works with a new Shell Eco-marathon challenge – Future Rider.
Quickly cuts back to Norman watching this exchange unfold on the TV, before cutting back to Kitt.
Kitt in vision:
What are the terms of this challenge, Colin?
Colin in vision:
It’s simple. Just design the car of the future… again!
Kitt in vision:
Interesting!
Colin gets out of the car and starts to walk around it.
Colin vision:
And you’re the inspiration for teams of stem students around the globe working on this right now. Will it be foreign hydrogen?! Will it be powered by batteries?! Will it be biofuel?! Will there be a bazillion buttons?!
There are loads of possibilities!
Kitt in vision:
Shall I calculate, them?
Colin in vision:
No, but your early technologies and intelligence can inspire them.
Kitt in vision:
A turbo boost for the imagination!
Colin in vision:
Exactly!
