Giovana Vecchio Soares and her team Equipe Ecofet Etanol from CEFET Minas Gerais in Brazil are always searching for new technologies to improve their vehicle.
One way this team continues to innovate is by embracing affordable lower-carbon biofuels such as ethanol to power their Shell Eco-marathon vehicle. This fuel source has been pioneered in their country, as it is derived from sugar cane that grows abundantly all over Brazil.
Giovana, the team’s driver, talks about how ethanol is produced and why it can be seen a cheaper and more sustainable fuel source. Through Shell Eco-marathon, she hopes her team can continue to share their ideas and work towards a sustainable future.
